Visit the historically important Kykuit
Kykuit is a historic mansion located in the Pocantico Hills section of Tarrytown, Westchester County, New York. It was originally constructed in the late 19th century as a summer residence for John Davison Rockefeller Jr., son of Standard Oil founder John Davison Rockefeller. After his death in 1940, the property became the personal residence of his widow Abby Aldrich Rockefeller and her children. In 1945, the Rockefellers sold the house to the National Park Service, which operates the site today as the Rockefeller Estate.
The house is now open to visitors as part of the National Park System. Visitors are allowed to walk around the grounds and see the inside of the main building. There are guided tours available, where you can learn about the history of the house and how it came to be called Kykuit. You can even take a tour of the gardens and see some of the artwork that is displayed there.
Pay a visit to the Washington Irving's Sunnyside
The Sunnyside Mansion is another historic property located just outside of Newburgh, NY. This beautiful mansion was built in 1835 by the famous author Washington Irving, who wrote many books including "Rip Van Winkle". He bought the land where he wanted to build his dream home and named it Sunnyside. Today, it is one of the most visited places in the area and it is easy to see why.
This place has a Scottish and Gothic feel to it and it is worth seeing because of its architecture. There are three floors and each floor has different features such as the basement, main floor and attic. On the ground floor there is a library, dining room, kitchen, living room and a ballroom. Upstairs you find four bedrooms, a bathroom, a study and a music room. In addition, the roof offers views of the surrounding countryside.
NYC Programs & Initiatives
The New York City Health + Hospitals Corporation announced today that it has approved a new COVID-19 vaccination program for anyone age 12 and older. This program will allow people to receive one dose of the newly developed vaccine, which is being manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur.
This new vaccine booster is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to provide residents with additional protection against COVID-19. In addition to the vaccine, the city is providing free masks and hand sanitizer to help prevent the spread of the virus.
In addition, the health department is offering free flu shots to those ages six months and up. For more information about the flu shot clinics, visit nyc.gov/fluclinic.

Small Businesses
The New York State of Health (NYSHIP), the state agency responsible for administering the Small Business Health Insurance Program (SBHIP), announced today that it is launching the Small Business Marketplace (SHOW). This online marketplace allows small businesses to purchase affordable health insurance plans directly from participating insurers. Employers can choose among several different plan designs offered by qualified carriers.
Employers are able to use the SHOP to enroll their workers in one of the qualifying plans, receive tax credits, and save money on premiums. If you qualify for the SBHIP, your employer must provide you with access to the SHOP.
Marvel at the New Croton Dam
The New Croton Dam is one of the most impressive feats of engineering ever built. Widely thought to be one of the largest examples of hand hewn masonry in the entire world (along with the Pyramids and the Great Wall), the dam rises 300 feet above the ground and is nearly half a mile long.
Beyond marveling at the dam and taking pictures of the stunning surroundings, Croton Gorge Park offers plenty of activities for visitors. Visitors can fish, hike, picnic, sled, or just relax to the sound of the rushing water. There are even opportunities to take a dip in the pool.
